Job Responsibilities:

We are an asset-based LTL carrier with customer service as a priority to meet the transportation and logistics needs of our customers. With Customer Service mind set, local Class B P&D or City Drivers operate various truck combinations between company terminals and customer facilities or work sites within the terminal's geographic service area. They sort, handle, load, and/or unload freight at various companies and customer locations. Driver will have an average of 16-20 stops a day, driver will work 10-12 hours average shifts and return home every day.

The primary responsibilities of the P&D Driver are:

• Operate vehicle safely within regulations.
• Be always available for work to meet customer pickup and delivery schedules.
• Be able to maintain excellent customer service and communication skills with customers, co-workers, management, and vendor partners.
• Participate in random drug program.
• Deliver product to customers in an efficient, timely, courteous, and accurate manner.
• Load or unload product manually or pallet-jack onto and off the truck. Ensure load is properly secured.
• Checks load security prior to travel and at each stop, adjusting when needed.
• Complete all daily DOT and customer paperwork including delivery, pre and post trip inspections, driver logs, and vehicle service reports. Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area.
• Follow all required work safe practices. This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas.

Physical requirements for Pickup and Delivery drivers:

• State licensed and able to drive CLASS B trucks classification. Clean driver record (must meet Driver SOP requirements).
• Valid CDL Class B license with Airbrake, Tankers and Hazmat endorsement required
• Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card required
• Must have a clean driving record. 3 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
• 2 year of documented relevant commercial vehicle driving experience in the last 5 years required
• Must be able to pass all pre-employment screens (including drug, background and criminal checks).
• Physical fit and able to lift, push, pull, handle 75 to 100 pounds.
• Knowledge and experience to use GPS navigation systems.
• Takes daily direction from the Delivery Supervisor and Group Leader.
• Able to use Material Handling Equipment (Electric/Manual pallet jacks)
• Able to work rotational and various duty hours when required.
• Inspect truck before each trip as required by the DCL SOP. Deliver shipments to our other stores.
• Perform “Will Calls” at vendor locations and follow receiving procedures. (Verified all product are in order, good condition and complete)
• Other related duties maybe assigned. Must be able to occasionally reach above shoulder level, at waist level and below waist level for maneuvering and directing the controls to operate the truck.
