DC Farmers Co-op is Hiring a Warehouse Associate (Part-time) Near Winston, OR

Job Summary:

This full-time Warehouse position is responsible for quality customer service, merchandising, re-arranging stock and fixtures, and completing receiving and warehouse tasks. This position is also responsible for loading products into customer vehicles, unload freight trucks, and organizing product in a neat and tidy manner in the warehouse. This is a customer facing position that requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.

Temporary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Correctly and efficiently execute planograms, schematics, and visual aides.
  • Set up and tear down shelving, racking and various store fixtures (Gondola).
  • Unloading merchandise and fixtures from trucks.
  • Read and interpret retailer-specific Plan-O-Grams to perform required merchandising activities and fixture installations (POG setting) per instructions.
  • Work effectively and diligently in a team environment.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Greets customers as they enter the department and make them feel welcome.
  • Haul feed and other products to customer vehicles and load merchandise with care into vehicle.
  • Utilize loading tickets from customers, verify order, and safely load merchandise located from the warehouse and garden center into customer vehicles.
  • Fill, stack, organize, and recover fencing material, bailing twine, seed mixes, planting mixes, bagged soil, and feed pallets.
  • Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and stock levels of the warehouse, receiving, and stock room area.
  • Keep feed decks and hay piles well organized.
  • Provide basic janitorial services for salesfloor, restrooms, offices, parking areas, and other high traffic areas by removing obstructions or debris from warehouse area and parking lot, wiping down surfaces, etc.
  • Sweep and clear area of debris and empty trash bins regularly.
  • Load merchandise from pallets to the salesfloor.
  • Backup for the daily carryout of feed and related products for our customers.
  • Ability to assemble display merchandise such as lawn furniture and log splitters.
  • Punctuality and adherence to all company policies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking up to 9 hours.
  • Bending, twisting, stooping, and kneeling required frequently to rearrange merchandise.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently
  • With appropriate equipment, must lift 300 pounds infrequently with manual & electric pallet jacks and forklifts.
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time.
  • May need to work nights, weekends, and some holidays on a rotating basis.

Education and Experience:

  • Ability to operate warehouse and office equipment such as: forklifts, scissor lifts, computers, printers, scanners, cash registers, and calculators.
  • Ability to Cross Reference Multiple Documents
  • Minimum 2 years Retail Experience (preferred)
  • Demonstrate safe usage of basic tools including screwdrivers, open-end wrenches, pliers, tape measure, and level.
