Job Summary
The Electrician will be responsible for the diagnosis, repair and installation of electrical equipment and lighting systems for needs as it relates to roadway, railway and/or bridge infrastructure for the assigned maintenance project.
Education Requirements:
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Completed an accredited apprenticeship program or vocational training program
· Current Electrician’s License (in-progress may be considered)
Position Requirements and Preferences:
· Must have a valid Driver’s License
· Must be able to pass a DOT physical and obtain a medical card
· Experience working with hand tools, power tool and electronic test equipment
· Experience working with PLC’s, VFD’s, DC motors and DC digital drive controls
· Knowledge of Substation Equipment, (34.5KVA), Transformers, Switch Gear and 480V Motor Control Centers, among others
· Extensive background with Industrial Controls and Line Diagrams is preferred
· Experience in construction and/or infrastructure maintenance preferred
· Obtain a basic and/or intermediate MOT certification
Responsibilities:
Will adhere to all OSHA and NECA safety regulations
Will conduct scheduled routine electrical systems preventive Supervisor maintenance as outlined
Will report and record all findings upon inspection and P.M. to
Will trouble shoot and repair/replace contactors, relays, limit switches, momentary switches, etc.
Will trouble shoot and repair/replace malfunctioning motors, motor controls and disconnects
Will conduct scheduled routine preventive maintenance of roadway lighting cabinets and controls
Will repair/replace roadway pole lighting, sign lighting, and bridge lighting including navigation
Will operate a Bucket Truck
Will maintain an active Electrician License
Other duties as assigned
