Job Description:

Davis Behavioral Health, Inc. is seeking a full-time Therapist to join the Children, Youth and Families Mental Health team. This position will be work in schools throughout Davis School District. The school-based therapist is a licensed mental health professional who provides therapeutic services for youth who are experiencing a variety of behavioral and psychiatric symptoms. Services are mostly provided directly in the school setting and coordinated with the education team; however, some clinic and/or in-home services may be required. This is a year-round position with services expected to continue through the summer.

Primary job duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and diagnosis as appropriate.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans consisting of mutually agreed upon goals and objectives and update as needed.
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy using evidence-based interventions to decrease symptoms and improve functioning.
  • Coordinate with other staff and community agencies as needed to provide effective care.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with school personnel.
  • Attend school meetings as appropriate (IEP, etc.) and provide clinical recommendations to help clients succeed in school.
  • Provide consultation on mental health or behavioral concerns to school personnel as needed.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings and supervision.
  • Maintain clinical documentation as required by agency standards.
  • Must meet agency productivity standard.

Preference given to candidates who have demonstrated experience in working with children and youth a mental health condition.

Preference will also be given to candidates who are bilingual English/Spanish, but this is not a requirement.

Strong preference for candidates with experience in DBT and TFCBT.

The successful candidate with work with clients ranging in age from 1 - 18 with an average caseload of 45-50. All outpatient therapists are required to work at least one (1) evening each week until 8:00 pm.

Meeting monthly face-to-face service expectations and productivity standards is also required. Full-time clinicians working in an outpatient setting have an annual productivity standards of 1,008 direct service hours. 

Schedule

This is a full-time position and is normally assigned to weekdays. This schedule may require some evening work. DBH reserves the right to require overtime, weekend work, and/or assignment to evening or night shifts, depending upon operational need, some in and out of state travel may be required.

Compensation

This position is classified as full-time, exempt. This position is eligible for a hybrid base rate salary plus incentive model if the candidate is interested.

Base Rate
The base rate for fully licensed clinicians is calculated with a starting annual rate of $70,000 plus credit for years of full-licensure experience as defined below:

  • $70,000.00 to $85,061.09 per year is the approved base rate range
  • 1% per year for each year of full licensure between 0 and 10 years
  • 1% per year for every three years of full licensure between 10 and beyond
  • $3,000 Spanish-language incentive annual stipend (paid bi-weekly) available. Must pass a Spanish assessment.

The starting base rate for under-licensed clinicians (CSW/ACMHC) is $60,000 per year.

Incentive Payment Option
DBH has implemented a salary incentive model to help improve access to mental health services. Employees who choose to participate in this compensation model will receive a per service incentive for all direct service hours provided during each pay period at the following rates:

· $45 per service for services 49-60 in a pay period

· $50 per services for all services 61 and beyond

Clinical documentation for all services completed during each 2-week pay period must be completed no later than 12:00 am on the Monday following the end of a pay cycle to receive payment for services provided during the period. While this program is designed for clinicians working in an outpatient mental health program, clinicians who are interested in participating in this program may develop and present a plan on how they can help improve access and have it reviewed by their Program Director and the DBH Clinical Director for approval. Certain positions at DBH may not be approved for this position due to the nature of their core job and the essential duties assigned to that position.

Experience and Skills:

Master of Social Work degree from an accredited university. Must be licensed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CMHC), or Marriage & Family Therapist (MFT). Possibility of under-filling with a Certified Social Worker (CSW) or ACMHC, who is nearing completion of full clinical licensure may be considered.

DBH utilizes an electronic medical health records system, so computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office products is required. Required clinical documentation must be completed within established timeframes: Preference for concurrent documentation. End of work day is acceptable if daily appointments do not allow for concurrent documentation. Documentation should be completed no later than 24 hours after an appointment is held in the worst case scenario.

The selected candidate must successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screening. DBH will not hire individuals currently using illegal drugs or abusing alcohol; therefore, making employment at DBH conditional upon successfully passing pre-employment drug screening by providing a valid sample. Candidates who are offered employment are required to report for a drug screen at an Intermountain WorkMed location within 24 hours of being requested to do so by the DBH Human Resources Department.

Davis Behavioral Health works with Federal grants and must comply with the Federal drug laws, including no use of medical marijuana.

Skills/Abilities

  • Clinical expertise in screening, assessments, diagnosis, and crisis intervention.

  • Must have skills in working with SED populations, substance use, and with individuals and families undergoing acute episodes of psychiatric distress.

  • Demonstrates the skills necessary to motivate and engage youth and their families.

  • Considerable knowledge of the techniques and principles of child and family development and family systems theory.

  • Considerable knowledge of trauma-informed care, including screening, assessing, and treating from a trauma-informed lens.

  • Good organizational and practice management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and effectively.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff and community agencies (such as DCFS, juvenile courts, schools, etc.).

  • Flexibility in days and hours available for scheduled work, including evenings.
