Davis Behavioral Health, Inc. is seeking part-time Learning to Breathe Instructors to teach Learning to Breathe (an adolescent mindfulness curriculum) in 6th grade classrooms, and possibly secondary classrooms. The successful candidates must be committed to attending all the training, developing a personal mindfulness practice, engaging in ongoing learning to teach this program to fidelity, and embodying the principles taught in this curriculum.

Compensation

The starting wage for this position is $20 per hour.

Location

Training will be held at the Davis Mindfulness Center in Layton, UT. Classroom teaching will be done in schools throughout Davis County, with a desire to have instructors teach close to their local residential area, if possible.

Schedule

 Required Training:

• MBSR Personal Foundation Course:
• Orientation, Wednesday, March 29, 2023; 9:30am-12:00pm
• Weekly classes: Wednesdays, April 12-May 31, 2023; 9:30am-12:00pm
• All-Day Retreat: Saturday, May 20, 9:00am-4:00pm
• Learning to Breathe Curriculum Training:
• Wednesday - Friday June 7-9, 8:30am-4:30pm
• Practice Teaching (pick one session):
• June 19, 21, 23, 26, 28, 30 OR
• July 10, 12, 14, 17, 19, 21

Teaching Schedule 2023-2024 school year:

• Availability during the school day hours 1-3 days/week September 2023 - May 2024.
• Weekly group supervision/support (1 hour/week).

Monthly individual supervision/support (1 hour), or more often if needed.
