Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Overseeing the safe and productive receipt, storage, retrieval and timely delivery of product to both internal and external customers
- Managing and controlling storage and distribution activities of the company to insure maximum utilization of facilities
- Verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current and accurate
- Screening, hiring, training of warehouse staff, evaluating employee performance, and recommending or initiating promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action for warehouse personnel
- Tracking productivity and quality numbers for departmental employees and providing feedback
- Insuring workplace health and safety requirements are met and taking responsibility for the security of the warehouse and stored product
- Inspecting and maintaining physical condition of warehouse and equipment
- High school diploma required; college degree preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Five years or more experience managing warehouse operations in a small shipment, wireless warehouse environment -- government/defense supplier a plus
- Quality Assurance/ISO 9000 exposure preferred, AS9100 exposure a plus
- Lean Enterprise and 5S exposure preferred
- Good knowledge of modern warehousing techniques and equipment, including barcode and RF communications
- Basic Microsoft Office skills, particularly Outlook (email), Word, and Excel
