As a Project Assistant at DB Homes, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Project Manager in all aspects related to the successful execution of new home construction projects. You will be involved in various stages of the construction process, from planning and scheduling to project completion and delivery. This position offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in residential construction management while contributing to the growth and success of our company.

Our office is located in Johnstown, PA. Qualified candidates must be willing and able to commute to the office and job sites in this area.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Coordination: Assist the Project Manager in coordinating and overseeing all aspects of new home builds, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, permits, change orders, and progress reports. Prepare regular status updates and reports for stakeholders.
  • Vendor and Subcontractor Management: Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services. Manage relationships and resolve any issues or disputes that may arise.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular site inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and project specifications. Address any quality concerns promptly and implement corrective measures as needed.
  • Client Communication: Assist in maintaining regular communication with clients to provide updates on project progress, address concerns, and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the construction process.
  • Budget Management: Support the Project Manager in monitoring project budgets and expenditures. Identify cost-saving opportunities and assist in managing project finances effectively.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, designers, and construction workers, to ensure seamless project execution and timely completion.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with project delivery and proactively develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and ensure project success.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in post-project evaluations and lessons-learned sessions to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices for future projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or related field (Preferred)
  • Construction experience or background required.
  • Self-motivation and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in an office environment.
  • Willingness to undertake occasional site visits.
  • Proven organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Prior experience in a project support role is a plus.
