Must have a background in the Arts to assist with 2 productions per school year. 

Position: Full-time seasonal; exempt

Work Schedule: 7:30 AM - 4: 00 PM daily*; 8 hours per day; 186 work days and 6 paid holidays per school year

Benefits: Insurance benefits the first of the month after 60 days of full-time employment; 10 PTO days per school year

Instructional Practice

  • Assume personal responsibility for the academic progress of all students
  • Implement a coherent, research-based curriculum based upon Florida standards and Core Knowledge content sequence that is documented with curriculum maps, unit plans, and daily lesson plans
  • Document all syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, rubrics, and other instructional materials and methods
  • Use consistent school-wide practices and individualized methods to engage students in the classroom
  • Provide varied instructional techniques and opportunities through technology, individual practice, and/or guided groups designed to meet the educational, social, and emotional needs of students

Classroom Management

  • Create, monitor, and sustain a disciplined school culture of high academic and behavioral standards
  • Provide structure in the classroom by developing and reinforcing school-wide rules and expectations
  • Ensure smooth operation of all classroom instructional functions without excuses or exceptions
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, materials, equipment, and facilities

Data Analysis

  • Develop and use a variety of assessment data to refine curricula and instructional practice
  • Evaluate academic achievement through detailed data analysis of student performance
  • Collaborate vertically and horizontally with teaching teams across campuses to ensure student success across content areas and grade levels

Student Support and School Culture

  • Communicate effectively and maintain strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues
  • Collaborate with diverse stakeholders to cultivate character driven citizenship, high expectations and a culture of learning for all: staff, students, and families
  • Successfully integrate technology throughout the curriculum, instruction, and assessment environments 
  • Uphold a professional demeanor, strong work ethic, detail-driven work style with excellent organizational skills
  • Retain a commitment to getting the job done well, no matter what the obstacles or how long it takes

Dedicated to student success and to building relationships through activities outside of the normal work day such as arts productions, after school clubs, and school-wide events

Requirements

Required:

  • All employees must be fingerprinted and pass a background screening process by the District School Board of Pasco County, per Florida statute 1012.465 and 1012.56.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Must have a background in the ARTS. 
  • Applicants must have valid FLDOE teaching certificate or current Statement of Eligibility issued by FLDOE. Recent college graduates may apply without having either document, but will be required to apply for initial certification prior to being offered a position.
