GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, the TTEAM Clinician provides home and community-based assessment, treatment planning and trauma-informed therapeutic intervention for high-risk children ages three to seventeen with complex trauma, referred by the Department of Children, Youth and Families. Bilingual a plus.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides trauma-focused, evidence-based in-home treatment and crisis intervention services for children, youth, and their caregivers.
2. Administers evidence-based trauma assessments/evaluations and creates individualized treatment plans with child and their non-offending caregivers. Provides psychoeducation, referrals, and advocacy when necessary.
3. Attends continued training on evidenced-based therapeutic interventions for child abuse victims and their non-offending family members.
4. Maintains appropriate and confidential documentation and completes data entry for all assigned cases.
5. Coordinates multi-disciplinary team meetings with DCYF, school staff, caregivers and other invested partners in the child’s health and healing and provides referrals/advocacy when necessary.
6. Attends CAC meetings and CSEC MDTs when applicable.
7. Develops and maintains good working relationships with the Attorney General’s Office, DCYF, police, courts, hospitals, mental health, schools, and social service agencies.
8. Communicates effectively with the Management and program staff to ensure the continued successful operation of all programs and acts in a way that demonstrates cultural competency and value of diversity.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
1. Master’s level clinician in Counseling or related field; license preferred. Bilingual a plus.
2. A high level of interpersonal skills to provide assistance to victims and to deal effectively with all segments of the community.
3. Organizational and analytical ability to deal with difficult situations and multi-tasking.
4. A basic understanding of issues related to sexual assault, sexual abuse and domestic violence and the impacts of trauma on brain, body, and spirit.
5. The ability to deal effectively in stressful situations and to handle crises as they arise.
6. Clean driving record, proof of auto insurance.
7. First Aid and CPR Certification.
8. Successful completion of the next advocate training.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
1. Home-based and community-based treatment, as well as remote when necessary.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
1. Master’s Degree in counseling or a relevant field, considerable experience in responsible position in relevant field, and/or any combination of education and experience that is substantially equivalent.
2. Experience working with abused children, DCYF and other community partners.
3. Knowledge and proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Word.
