Job Summary:
The purpose of this job is to plan and manage the dissemination of public information for Dawson County and to develop programs which preserve and strengthen the County’s image on a local, state and national level. Individual will facilitate positive community relations for and with elected officials, businesses, civic organizations and the general public and coordinate educational programs for civic organizations and the general public.
Job Requirements:
An Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Pubic Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Public Affairs, Graphic Design or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred; possess two to five years of professional or managerial-level experience in journalism, marketing, communications, media relations, public relations, government relations or community relations or related work; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities for this job. Applicant must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, exceptional interpersonal communication and organizational skills and be Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop proficient. The applicant must possess a valid Georgia driver’s license and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and be able to pass a background check and a drug screening.
