Overview:

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Tool Maker to join our team. As a Tool Maker, you will be responsible for designing, building, and repairing tools used in manufacturing processes. This is a hands-on position that requires strong technical skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

· Building new, high quality tooling.

· Carrying out servicing and maintenance on existing tooling

· Maintaining the Toolroom and its equipment in a clean and safe condition.

· To participate in training to work towards being competent in the use of all equipment and computer programs within the toolroom.

· Maintaining accurate time keeping records for all work undertaken.

· Being supportive and involved in company continuous improvement activities.

· Assisting in the training and instruction of apprentices in safe work practices and all aspects of toolmaking.

· Participate in scheduled training when necessary.

· Assisting other toolmakers in the course of their duties when required.

· Following company work instructions and comply with all company rules and regulations.

· Assisting the Toolroom Manager with costing preparations

· Carrying out maintenance, repairs and insert changes on existing tooling as required by the Production Department.

· Assisting production department with any tooling related problems.

· Assisting with tool trials for new or modified tooling.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or apprenticeship preferred

- Proven experience as a Tool Maker or similar role in a manufacturing environment

- Proficient in AutoCAD or other CAD software for tool design

- Strong knowledge of machining techniques, including lathe operation

- Familiarity with stamping press operations and programming

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings

- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot tooling issues

- Attention to detail and ability to work with precision measuring instruments

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $31.60 - $33.35 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
