Third (Nights) (United States of America)Sentara is currently hiring a Patient Care Technician to join our Western Tidewater Resource Pool!This is aFlexi position with night shift hours.
Western Tidewater Region includes:
Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center (Williamsburg, VA)
Sentara Care Plex Hospital (Hampton, VA)
Sentara Obici Hospital (Suffolk, VA)
Sentara Albemarle Medical Center (Elizabeth City, NC)
Our Regional Resource Pool Patient Care Technicians travel to the locations within the Region to assist various departments in each hospital. The position gives you the opportunity to learn and gain experience all throughout the hospital and work with a variety of patients!
Job Requirements :
High School Grad or Equivalent
Preferred: Basic Life Support, Cert Patient Care Tech/Asst
For those acting as Safety Partners, de-escalation and physical intervention training within 30 days of hire, except for those in Behavioral Health within 15 days of hire. One of the following programs is acceptable for education: Sentara Care Partner Certification Program, successful completion of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), National Patient Care Technician (NCPCT), completion of US Navy Hospital Corps School, Emergency Services to include EMR, EMS, EMT, AEMT and Paramedic, or current student enrolled in a clinical program having completed at least one semester of a (RN, LPN, RT or PT) or current work experience within last three years as a PCT or Nursing Assistant. One year of health care experience preferred. AHA BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Provide patient care, support the admissions and discharge process, and comply with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional nurse. Observe patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report any change to the nursing.
