We are currently seeking and interviewing ambitious and team-oriented, analytically-minded individuals who enjoy problem-solving and researching in a fast-paced and FUN work environment!
DaVita is currently looking for an HIM Specialist. Individuals who excel in this role are highly ambitious, results-driven, and comfortable thinking "outside the box". In this role, you will need to be flexible and able to work on special projects as assigned within the HIM Team. You will need to build and maintain relationships with all HIM Teammates and obtain an understanding of their job functions.

Key Functions of Role:

  • Identifies the root cause of an issue and maximizes other teams to resolve large scale issues
  • Timely escalation of HIM issues; utilize internal teammates to resolve roadblocks and escalations
  • Maximizes relationships to achieve results
  • Clear/concise written, verbal communications
  • Seeks to utilize overtime when needed
  • Independently completes assignments; effectively managing and prioritizing their work queue
  • Contributes to the DVA Way and Culture
  • Actively coordinates & participates in Neighborhood events, Village Service, or Community projects
  • Aspires to exceed Metrics
  • Independently learns new job role functions and requirements; seeks growth opportunities in current role

Experience and required skills

  • No previous healthcare Experience is required
  • Excellent communication skills: (Written & Verbal). The position involves regular communication with insurance payors, employers, or other teams.
  • Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills: Patient account and every insurance payor is different. The ability to think through a situation and carefully identify the best action to take is critical to be successful at this role
  • Ability to adapt quickly and manage stress: Our environment can change quickly on a daily basis. Adapting and managing stress is important for success
  • Relationships Building: Working in teams and with other departments is central to this position

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Certificate, degree or HIM/revenue cycle experience preferred
