Davis Appliances is Hiring an Appliance technician Near Charlottesville, VA

We want to hire an individual interested in becoming an appliance repair technician. The candidate will receive on the job training, and learn how to perform all appliance repair, installation, and maintenance duties.

The goal of the training is to become an appliance repair technician.

The appliance repair technician’s responsibilities include responding to calls in customers' homes to diagnose and repair problems with household appliances, testing the functioning of newly installed appliances and making adjustments as needed, and informing customers of future maintenance work that may be required.

You should also be able to refer to appliance manuals to resolve difficult problems.

Appliance Repair Technician Trainee Responsibilities :

  • Observe and assist the appliance technician as he examines customers' appliances and identifies the cause of appliance breakdowns.
  • Learn to perform maintenance work on customers' appliances.
  • Learn to provide rough estimates to customers on how much it would cost to repair damaged or malfunctioning appliances.
  • Learn to repair and / or replace defective or damaged appliance components upon approval from customers.
  • Learn how to advise customers on how to use appliances correctly.
  • Learn to install various large appliances for customers, such as washers, wall ovens, and stoves.
  • Learn how to maintain an accurate record of all items / parts used to repair, replace, or maintain appliances.
  • Learn how to prepare invoices and collect payments.

Appliance Repair Technician Trainee Requirements :

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Willingness to learn mechanical concepts, like how machines work.
  • Knowing about various types of tools, and how to use them.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods.
  • The ability to lift heavy objects.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
