Daviess County Economic Development Corporation is Hiring a Plant Manager Near Washington, IN

Position Overview

Essential Job Functions:

The Plant Manager will oversee all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed. They develop processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality and productivity.

Knowledge:

Ø ISO 9001/14000

Ø Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources)

Ø Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise

Ø Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes

Ø Computer literacy

Ø Ability to manage 3 – 5 senior managers with succession and continuous improvement in the forefront.

Personal/Technical Skills:

Ø Proven work experience as a Plant Manager

Ø Proven managerial experience

Ø Ability to create accountability and to lead by example

Ø Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills

Ø Excellent problem solving and leadership abilities

Ø Powerful communication skills, both verbal and written

Tasks:

Ø Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations

Ø Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards

Ø Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping

Ø Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results

Ø Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus

Ø Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions

Ø Share a trusting relationship with workgroup and recruit, manage and develop plant staff

Ø Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime

Ø Commit to plant safety procedures

Ø Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets

Ø Address employees’ issues or grievances

Ø Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts

Work Conditions:

Ø Open office environment, moderate to loud noise.

Ø Standard automotive plant environment with PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, hearing protecting, etc. Personal attire standards may apply.

Ø Ability to sit, walk or stand for extensive periods of time.

Ø May occasionally be required to lift 60 pounds.

Education:

Ø Bachelor’s degree in business management, Automotive, Maintenance, Engineering, or another related field.

Ø High School Diploma.

Experience:

Ø 5 to 8 years of manufacturing experience (education may substitute).

Ø Experience with extrusion manufacturing processes, tooling, quality control methods and statistical process control (SPC).

Ø Injection plastics and Urethane process experience a plus.

Ø Previous exposure to a multicultural office environment a plus.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
