EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
As the Career and College Promise Advisor, you will work in collaboration with high school counselors, career development coordinators, principals, and the Director of High School Partnerships to ensure student access and success for Career and College Promise students. This position supports our high school partnerships and spends the majority of their time in the high schools. The duties of the Career and College Promise Advisor include, but are not limited to: Essential Job Functions: Proactively liaise with College Career and College Promise (CCP) staff and high school partners to onboard new CCP students, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and filed by the start of each semester.Schedule and conduct monthly information sessions and bi-monthly registration workshops for prospective and current CCP students to facilitate seamless enrollment and course selection.Deliver dynamic presentations at a minimum three high schools per semester during Parent Nights, Curriculum Nights, and Open House events to effectively market CCP programs and increase student enrollment.Offer personalized academic advising and registration assistance to CCP students, ensuring each student has a tailored academic plan updated at the beginning of each semester.Regularly assess CCP students' academic performance, intervening when necessary, and connect at-risk students to campus resources within one week of identifying academic difficulties.Guide students in developing and implementing specific success strategies, such as time management and study skills workshops, to overcome academic challenges.Verify graduation eligibility for all CCP students each semester, ensuring compliance with academic requirements and timely submission to the registrar.Stay updated with changes in state and local policies from the North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS) and the Department of Public Instruction (DPI), implementing updates within one month of policy revisions.Ensure meticulous record-keeping for enrollment, tracking, and reporting purposes, with quarterly audits to maintain data integrity.Provide ongoing support and monthly training sessions for students to access and effectively utilize college technology accounts such as email and Moodle.Actively participate in all team meetings and attend at least two professional development activities per semester to enhance job performance and stay informed of best practices.Foster an inclusive academic environment by demonstrating sensitivity and respect in all interactions with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds.Engage actively in college events and meetings to champion the College's mission and values, contributing to at least two college-wide initiatives per academic year.Execute additional tasks as assigned to support the mission and strategic initiatives of the College, reporting outcomes to the supervisor bi-annually.

ADA Summary: ADA requirements for this position include critical thinking skills with the ability to process information and exercise good judgment in the collection, evaluation, and analysis of data, and student assessment, curriculum development, and program review.
