Seeking a part-time Food Service Associates to work up to 30 hours per week, café is located on the Newport Navy base. Cafe is open Monday - Friday and closed all holidays, perfect for someone looking for "mother's hours". Food Service Associate should provide excellent customer service to guests visiting our café. Responsibilities include cashiering, keeping the café fully stocked for customers, greeting all guests, and making them feel welcome and comfortable while they await their food.

• The Food Service Associate is responsible for providing friendly and efficient customer service and is expected to be professional under pressure to solve problems, make decisions and deal effectively with the public.
• Primary responsibility is to run a register, cash handling and offering great customer service, greeting each customer.
• Inspect premises, furniture, and equipment to insure that the highest quality of health, safety and sanitation are maintained.
• Continually monitor the environment to assess, detect and prevent any variance from established housekeeping, sanitation, safety, dress, hygiene and customer service standards.
• Assist with food preparation, including chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, and assembling dishes
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
• Assist with inventory management, including receiving and storing deliveries
• Keep café fully stocked for customers.

Requirements:

• High School Degree or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
• Ability to maintain flexible behavior and approach towards assignments.
• Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment.
• Ability to operate credit card reader and POS cash register.
• Previous customer service and cash handling experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to carry up to 20 lbs, occasionally
