David Evans Associates is Hiring a Survey Instrument Person Near Portland, OR

DEA is seeking a Survey Instrument Person to join a dynamic team of professional surveyors in our Portland, OR office. This individual will work as a member of a survey crew performing boundary, topography, ALTA, right of way, and construction surveys for public and private clients. Duties include the operation and maintenance of survey equipment, taking field notes, data collection, performing calculations and working with DEA staff and clients on these projects. Involvement in the office will include reducing survey data, performing calculations, copying and filing of this data and other tasks as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have the ability to travel out of town for project assignments
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 2 years surveying experience
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong work ethic and accountability required
  • Ability to work in all types of terrain and weather conditions found in the northwest
  • Clean driving record required (no more than 3 accidents and/or moving violations in the last 36 months or 2 accidents and or moving violations within the last 12 months)
  • Must be able to carry at least forty pounds on a consistent basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A two year degree focusing on Engineering or Surveying
  • Associates or Bachelor Degree
  • Leica, Trimble and GPS experience
  • AutoCAD experience
