WAGES: $16.70/hr Hours: Afternoon (12PM to 5PM) Open 6/17/2024 Thru 7/26/2024

NOTE: ALL CURRENT HEALTH PARA EDUCATORS, TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION THE FOLLOWING MUST BE COMPLETED PER THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU):
Submit Letter of Intent for the position to Gina Ekstrom, District Nurse within 3 days of submitting your application.
All employees working with/for the Special Education students will be required to pass the Medicaid Fraud background check, prior to hire, successfully bidding, and/or transferring to a special education position. This check is run several times a year. If at any time your name appears on the Medicaid Fraud listing, you will be notified and may be removed from your current position.
Assist students with personal hygiene, nutrition, comfort, and safety issues.
Provide general/Emergent care to students as director or delegated by the Registered Nurse and building administration.
Prepare and administer medication as directed by the student's physician
Monitor students for allergic reactions and follow individual health care plans or district procedures
Respond to health-related phone calls and parent questions
Monitor and check for head lice when required
Prepare and monitor health records
Maintain daily Med Administration and daily nursing office visits in Infinite Campus
Correspond with parents when appropriate
Complete staff/student injury forms as needed
Perform other service or clerical duties as assigned by the Registered Nurse or school administrator(s)
Must be willing to attend trainings and complete trainings to assume the duties and responsibilities of the position yearly.
Additional duties and responsibilities may include catheterization, tube feeding, use of electronic blood pressure equipment, use of a pulse oximeter, use of a peak flow meter and provide care to students needing medication such as diastatic, intranasal versed, glucagon, insulin, and epi-pen.
Must hold the Infant/Child/Adult CPR certificate prior to start date and remain current
Must hold a Mandatory Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Reporter Certificate prior to start date and remain current
Per DHS Guidelines this Children's Village position requires a background check every two (2) years, FBI fingerprinting check every four (4) years, and completed Physical every three (3) years.
Must complete Universal Precaution and Exposure Training prior to start date and remain current
Must be willing to complete the training and obtain the Medication Administration Certificate and remain current

Ability to routinely lift/carry office supplies and printed materials weighing up to 25lbs, occasionally lift up to
50lbs
Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels in person and/or on the telephone
Ability to communicate so others will be able to clearly understand a normal conversation in person and/or on
the telephone
Ability to operate a computer, calculator, copy machine, telephone, and other office equipment with dexterity
and in a safe and efficient manner
Ability to withstand weather for outside activities
Ability to bend, squat, and kneel
