    Duties & Responsibilities: (Essential Functions of Position, Major Responsibilities, Summary of Key Duties, Special Assignments, Relationships)
    • Leads the implementation of MTSS for academics as well as social, emotional, and behavioral health.
    • Leads and supports PBIS within the building ensuring strategic interventions and monitoring to support student behavior.
    • Monitors and facilitates online learners, in coordination with other online learning staff, in the district, K-12.
    • Supports the development, implementation, and oversight of K-12 alternative programming.
    • Supports summer school programming.
    • Supports the successful implementation of Collaborative Teacher Teams (CTTs) in the building.
    • Supervises, in coordination with the department of special education, other alternative programming sites (e.g. Leslie House)
    • Leads the building team in the creation and implementation of the building improvement/strategic plan in coordination with the district plan.
    • Accepts a leadership role in the improvement of the instructional program
    • Directs, supervises and evaluates the instructional, extra-curricular and counseling program in the high school
    • Works cooperatively in the coordination of the activities and programs of the high school with other schools of the district
    • Establishes and maintains structures within the building to encourage collaboration, consensus, and shared decision making
    • Promotes a safe and orderly learning environment for all students
    • Promotes the integration of special education students into the mainstream of student activities and classes
    • Serves as a leader for the special education staffing team
    • Promotes and maintains a sense of community among staff, students and parents
    • Monitors the building budget and is accountable for expenditures
    • Assumes responsibility for the implementation and observance of all board policies and regulations by the school's staff and students
    • Assists in the recruiting, screening, hiring, training, assigning, and evaluating of the school's professional staff
    • Maintains high standards of student conduct and enforces discipline as necessary, according to the due process rights of the students
    • Assists in the in-service orientation and training of teachers, with special responsibility for staff administrative procedures and instructions
    • Supervises the maintenance of accurate records on the progress and attendance of students
    • Other duties as assigned

    Minimum Required Qualifications:
    • Endorsements: [170 & 183 or 190] or [189 & 183 or 190]
    • Five years of teaching or administrative experience
    Special Qualifications Desired: (Personal Qualities, Education, Skills Needed, Experience, Etc.)
    • A Master's degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in school administration
    • Experience teaching in a high school
    • Experience as a high school principal
    • Experience working in at-risk school environments
    • Demonstrate varied, successful administrative experience
    • Demonstrated community and/or professional work with typically underserved communities or student populations
    • Possess outstanding interpersonal skills, proven effectiveness in the application of effective schools research; demonstrated instructional leadership; a commitment to collaborative decision-making; and a commitment to a strong and dynamic educational program
    • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable
