Summary

DataLink Software is seeking an experienced DBA. The right candidate for this position is someone who enjoys challenging work in a fast-paced environment and solving complex business problems enabling our customers in their pursuit of better healthcare outcomes for their members. 

Essential Functions

  • Analyze, solve and correct issues as they are occurring, providing problem resolution and root cause analysis 
  • Develops, tests and maintains maintenance plans, disaster recovery procedures and database backups schemes 
  • Provides after-hours support for database emergencies, routine scheduled maintenance and database server patching 
  • Works closely with the business and engineering teams to understand and plan for storage and database needs. 
  • Proactively analyzes database performance and stability, providing feedback and recommendations to Sr DBA 
  • Maintain, develop and organize database standard, infrastructure and processes and procedures documentation 
  • Knowledge of SQL Server Availability Groups, HADR setup, security and performance 
  • Completing User and Application tasks via, ticketing system. 
  • Performance Tuning and Optimization of SQL Server objects including Stored Procs, Views, Database Design 
  • Will work Closely with Sr DBA and other stake holders in application deployments.
  • Work in tandem with our data engineering team to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions
  • Define and document best practices and strategies regarding cloud application support and administration
  • Ensure application performance, uptime, scale, and maintaining high standards for code quality and thoughtful design
  • Manage cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines
  • Track and monitor Cloud environment metrics to determine growth and resource constraints
  • Develop and implement technical efforts to design, build, and deploy cloud application solutions, including large-scale data processing
  • Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle for cloud solutions, including planning, requirements, development, testing, and quality assurance
  • Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, remediate and document technical issues, and implement preventive measures
  • Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training when necessary
  • Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, with an ability to see and solve issues before they affect business productivity
  • Participate in rotating team on-call support for production systems
  • Implement and be responsible for infrastructure, system, and application projects
  • Develop Backup and Recovery Strategies with Snowflake, Dockers, and Kubernetes
  • Implement Disaster Recovery for Cloud Platform Technologies
  • Performance Tuning of Snowflake, SQL Server, Postgres and MySQL
  • Develop Automation Scripts for Infrastructure as Code (IAC) using Terraform.
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Mathematics
  • Experience in several of the following areas: database architecture, ETL, business intelligence, big data, machine learning, advanced analytics
  • 5 years of experience administering Microsoft SQL Server databases 
  • 5 years managing Microsoft SQL Server in a distributed high availability environment 
  • 5 years managing database security, backups, disaster recovery and maintenance 
  • Demonstrated understanding of performance tuning and analysis in a Microsoft SQL Server environment 
  • Knowledge of T-SQL 
  • Ability to work in a team environment 
  • Effective verbal and written communication 
  • Experience with Healthcare systems and data. 
  • Experience with NoSQL Database such as Hadoop and MongoDB 
  • Experience working with cloud database
