The Network Engineer I/II role is responsible for operations, management, and security of all DataBank data center and enterprise networks. This includes 74 data centers across 29 markets in the US and EMEA. This engineering role will work directly with customers as well as internal engineering, cloud, operations, sales, product, and data center teams to ensure the service and SLA requirements established by the company. The individual should have a customer first mentality and work well with others. Be well organized, multi-faceted, be able to shift priorities on a moment’s notice. Work afterhours, performing operational maintenances, scheduled customer changes, and on-call duties.

Responsibilities:

· Routing & switching, Firewall, Load Balancing, IDS/IPS, and DDoS

· Documentation of standards and policy/procedures

· Security and Compliance assurance

· Technology refresh and platform augmentation

· Network Migration strategy and planning

· Tier 4 Escalation for Operations and Support Organizations

· Execution of standard & complex changes in the network environment

· Interacting with customers for activations, migrations, and incidents

· Deployment and support of new services and features

· 5 years of hands on technical experience in Service Provider and Cloud networks

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

· Experience with OSPF, BGP, EVPN/VXLAN, STP, MPLS, DMVPN, VPN, IPSEC, DNS, DHCP, NTP

· Experience managing large scale Layer 2/3 topologies

· Experience with (JunOS, MX, QFX, EX)(Cisco IOS/NX-OS, Nexus 4k/7k, FEX, 6500, 7600)

· Experience with Firewalls, Load Balancers, DDOS, IPSec and IDS/IPS

· Experience with Cisco ASA (5515 -5585 with SSPx), ASAv (5,10,30,50), Palo Alto( 800/3000/5000 series

· Experience with F5 server load balancing: LTM and DNS

· Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, including excellent written/verbal communications

· Excellent problem-solving skills

· Strong understanding of troubleshooting techniques and change management execution

· Exhibits mature organizational and time management skills

· Experience with high availability global environment with 99.999% SLA

· Accomplishes task with minimal supervision

Optional skills:

· Optical DCI Networking experience ROADM, FOADM, DWDM, (Ciena Waveserver platform)

· Cisco Meraki Wifi experience

· Scripting/Programming language experience associated with NetOps automation
