The Opportunity

DAT is looking for a Sr. Director Engineering Operations (SRE) to join our team. This position will report to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO). This position can be based in our Denver, CO office; Beaverton, OR office; or be fully remote.

What You'll Do

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive DevOps strategy aligned with business objectives, ensuring that technology initiatives support and enhance organizational goals.
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of DevOps engineers, providing guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities to foster a high-performing and motivated team.
  • Infrastructure Optimization: Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of our infrastructure, leveraging automation, cloud technologies, and best practices to improve reliability, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Drive the implementation and enhancement of CI/CD pipelines, enabling rapid and reliable software delivery while maintaining quality and security standards.
  • Physical Infrastructure: Experience in managing on-premises data centers, including provisioning, maintenance, and optimization of hardware and networking infrastructure.
  • Monitoring and Incident Response: Establish monitoring frameworks and incident response procedures to proactively identify and address issues, minimize downtime, and optimize system performance.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with development, operations, and other cross-functional teams to streamline workflows, facilitate knowledge sharing, and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Vendor Management: Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers to support our DevOps initiatives, ensuring alignment with business requirements and quality standards.
  • Performance Measurement and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess the effectiveness of DevOps initiatives, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.
  • 10 years in a senior leadership role within DevOps, infrastructure operations, or related fields.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing high-performing DevOps teams in complex, fast-paced environments.
  • Deep expertise in cloud technologies (especially AWS) and infrastructure as code
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD principles, tools, and best practices, with hands-on experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset and a passion for driving innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, allocate resources effectively, and deliver results within established timelines and budgetary constraints.
  • Proven track record moving on premises infrastructure to the cloud.
  • Travel will be required to DAT office locations, trade shows, and more around 25-50%.

For Colorado-based candidates, in compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, theminimum salary for this role is $185,000.00 benefits. The maximum compensation for this role can vary significantly depending on your job-related skills and experience. DAT considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education and training, core skills, internal equity, and market and business elements when extending an offer.
