The Clinical Nurse is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide evidence-based care and to continuously monitor and evaluate practice to ensure safe passage of patients that is in the best interest of populations served.
Neuro Special Care Unit (NSCU). The NSCU provides an intimate team environment with excellent opportunities for ongoing learning by participating in patient care in our cutting edge Stroke and Epilepsy programs. It is an 8-bed continuous care environment with full bedside monitoring capabilities. Patients require more nursing care than the general neuroscience/ENT unit can provide, but do not need acute critical care. NSCU nurses care for these higher acuity patients including: post-operative neuroscience, ENT patients, traumatic brain injuries, acute strokes, complex ENT surgeries, continuous cardiac monitoring, cardiac drips, external ventricular drains (EVD), lumbar drains, and complex respiratory, medical and multi-trauma needs.
