Darigold has a great opportunity for a Planning Coordinator to join our Sourcing and Planning team in Caldwell, Idaho manufacturing facility and play a key role in contributing to supporting the team’s performance and production goals.

As the Planning Coordinator you are responsible for ensuring a seamless & effective production planning process from the moment a demand is known of.

The coordinator’s role is to support of the facility’s success through quality Master Production Scheduling. Success of this role is measured by customer in-stock rates and effective management of Darigold’s valuable inventory investment.

The ideal candidate for this role has some experience in inventory control but is likely starting out in their career and is eager to get more hands-on experience and be a part of a great team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties as assigned)

• Actively manages and maintains the Master Production Schedule for multiple labels. Track / trend ATS per product line. Analyzes trends and makes recommendations for productivity improvements.
• Work with the corporate production planning team to appropriately forecast production and communicate to the plant by publishing weekly production schedules for Powder and Butter production.
• Submit orders for raw ingredients and packaging materials. Ensure safety stocks are maintained and the plant production needs can be satisfied.
• Conducts routine cycle counts to ensure accuracy of inventory.
• Analyze and research finish goods discrepancies for daily accuracy of inventory.
• Generate and track internal and external transfers.
• Develop and execute focus improvement projects to create cost savings, reduce waste, long-range strategies, organizational goals, objectives and initiatives.
• Generates vendor complaints when packaging material is non-conforming. Tracks returns and credits associated with defective packaging for return to vendor.
• Collaborate directly with the Corporate Sourcing and Planning team, Production planning management team, Warehousing teams for purposes of ordering, receiving products, production and finish goods inventory.
• Member of Trace Team, HACCP Team, Biosecurity Team and other teams as related to plant production / scheduling.
• Expert knowledge in multiple units of measures.
• Liaison between operations, accounting, customer service, load-out and suppliers.
• Software systems include; Excel, Oracle, Micro Dairy, IMI and internal Darigold system.
• Expert knowledge in cold / dry storage with FIFO, ordering, receiving and cross docking.
• Engages in month end financial close.
• Manages rework inventory. Helps plan / project rework plan prior to product expiration. Schedules and coordinates rework delivery to the plant according to the plan.

Education, Experience and Certifications :

• A Bachelor of Science degree in Business (Supply Chain Management) or related field preferred. Industry experience would be considered in the absence of a degree
• Dairy, beverage or process industry background is a plus
• 2-3 years of experience in SMI, Planning, Finance, Purchasing or Supply Chain preferred.
