DARCARS Automotive Group is seeking for a Shop Foreman! Potential Earning Based on Experience of $150KThe Shop Foreman will interact directly with the Service Director, Service Advisors, and Technicians to address and resolve automotive needs by taking ownership of the customer experience. In this role, you'll:
Recruit, hire, and motivate service technicians.
Assist technicians in developing their skills.
Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that affect service operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
Understand and ensure compliance with manufacturer warranty and policy procedures.
Ensure that all department employees receive appropriate manufacturer training.
Conduct regular performance reviews for all technicians in accordance with dealership guidelines.
Ensure that all repairs are assigned to technicians in an equal and fair manner.
Provide technical support for technicians when necessary.
Ensure repairs are charged out correctly.
Maintain high-quality service repairs to minimize comebacks. Conduct periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality.
Road test vehicles to quality-check work performed.
Account for all documents; ensures that none are missing and all are processed correctly.
Handle all customer complaints within 24 hours, informing other managers as appropriate.
Manage department performance using tools such as the daily operating control (DOC), efficiency and productivity control, comeback reports, warranty reports, telephone surveys, and monthly forecasts.
Monitor technicians' daily productivity reports and corresponding payroll records.
Monitor shop condition, including cleanliness, safety, and the condition of shop equipment. Report problems to the Service Manager or Service Department Head.
Ensure the proper care, storage, and inventory of special tools.
Keep abreast of new equipment and tools available and recommend purchases.
Attend managers meetings as requested.
Strive for harmony and teamwork within the department and with all other departments.
For this role, you'll need:
Minimum of 10 Years’ experience
Strong knowledge of all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance
Have working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment system, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment and lift operation
Must be able to read, interpret, and transcribe data in order to maintain accurate records
Ability to maintain a professional appearance and provide friendly customer service
Ability to maintain safe work environment.
Excellent communication, customer service, and problem solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
Must have a valid driver's license
