A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CASHIER / HOSTESS / HOST

As a Cashier / Hostess / Host, you warmly greet our guests when they arrive at our restaurant. You answer questions and concerns they may have as well, utilizing your customer service skills. Then, you seat customers according to their needs. When complaints or concerns arise, you address them with patience and empathy, bringing them to the attention of management when necessary. Your customer service skills shine as you help each person in our restaurant.

At the beginning of your shift, you count the money in the cash drawers to ensure the amounts are correct and that there is adequate change. Using the point-of-sale (POS) system, you accurately ring up customer orders. With attention to detail, you calculate total payments received during a time period and reconcile this with total sales. You are not only the first person customers see when they arrive, you are also the last person they see as they leave. With your friendly demeanor, you bid our leaving guests a happy farewell and insist they come to visit us again! You feel good about using your skills to keep our customers happy!
