We are looking for a strategic Financial Controller, eager to make an impact and serve in a critical role with a growing company. As our finance and accounting subject matter expert, our Financial Controller will be responsible for managing and overseeing the Company's daily, monthly, and annual financial activities, including financial reporting, accounting operations, and financial statements. Oversee Legal Monkeys' financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning and analysis
Plan, direct, and manage accounting operations, investing, banking, insurance, securities, and other financial activities
Oversee the cash flow of financial assets
Prepare financial reports
Develop and implement financial and accounting procedures to improve operational efficiency
Maintain the organization's General Ledger
Conduct month end close activities
Perform check runs
Evaluate financial reporting systems
Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting
Flourish in detail-oriented position
Perform other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related experience required. CPA highly preferred.
Experience: 5 years of Accounting experience required; Public Accounting experience preferred. Management experience preferred. Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, debits, credits, and general ledger reconciliation.
Leadership: Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Technical Proficiency: Strong software skills. Advanced in MS Excel required. Proficiency in QuickBooks preferred.
Analytical & Organizational Skills: Detail-oriented, with excellent organizational and project management skills. Technical ability in strategic and financial planning.
