This position reports to the Transportation Manager within Global Services- Logistics for the North America region of Danfoss supporting four business segments in more than twenty locations in the US, Mexico and Canada. This is a leadership opportunity where you will be working with the established team to enhance the current network and manage day to day transportation operations for our Power Solutions segment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage inbound international freight from origin to destination
  • Create and manage operational reports
  • In depth knowledge of all modes of transportation
  • Track and trace shipments
  • Liaison for internal customer support
  • Cost analysis
  • Route inbound and outbound domestic freight
  • Ensure routing guides and incoterms are being used appropriately
  • Obtain ad hoc quotes and manage hot shot requests
  • Meet weekly with factory management to discuss issues and status of containers
  • Manage KPI reporting
  • Research freight bill issues and work with carriers to rectify
  • Maintain SOP’s for all department processes
  • Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders and service providers
  • Provide POD’s and other forms of documentation upon request
  • Proactively research and report on trends and industry changes
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Transportation Manager

Background & Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of transportation specific experience preferably within a transportation department that purchases carrier services
  • International experience strongly preferred
  • Exceptional analytical skills
  • Superb customer service skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft products
  • Strong sense of urgency with the ability to navigate issues and find resolutions
  • Experience working with all modes of transportation
  • Out of the box thinker
  • Works well independently
  • Effective problem- solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize accordingly
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
  • TMS/SAP/ERP experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Keen attention to detail and results driven
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
