Dan'l Webster Inn & Spa is Hiring a Front Desk Agent Near Sandwich, MA

We are seeking a qualified Front Desk Agent for our historic 48-room inn. Your primary responsibility is to be the face of the inn. The responsibilities of a Front Desk Agent are (but not limited to):

  • Welcome customers and guests in a warm and friendly manner.
  • Assists customers in a branded, friendly, proactive, and efficient manner with appropriate follow-up as necessary.
  • Knows all essential aspects of our business operations.
  • Collects payments by accepting cash, check, or charge payments from customers; and makes change for cash customers.
  • Verifies credit acceptance by reviewing and recording customer information and operating credit card authorization systems.
  • Balances cash drawer by counting cash at beginning and end of work shift.
  • Monitors lobby and work area determine customer flow.
  • Responds to customer inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.
  • Acts as the site liaison for the services and sales center.
  • Works collaboratively with other staff, managers, and resources.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Education / Experience

Preferred Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent from four-year College or technical

school; or Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or

a minimum of two years related experience and/or training in reservation or hospitality industry.

Preferred Skills

Communication Skills

Must demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills and possess excellent telephone etiquette. Ability to answer guest’s questions and successfully resolve issues and/or negotiate matters related to guest’s needs.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and/or staff. Must maintain clear and concise documentation and positive approach to conflict resolution.

Computer and Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Explorer, etc) a plus.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment
