We have broad experience in stormwater drainage, water lines, sanitary lines, and stormwater retention.

JOB DUTIES:

• Supervise a team of mechanics and technicians responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy highway machinery and diesel engines while ensuring timely and efficient repairs
• Encourage professional development and skill enhancement by implementing training programs for new and existing technicians
• Regularly assess your team’s performance, provide feedback, and identify areas for improvement, including teaching major repairs.
• Assist with creating and implementing work order procedures
• Distribute work orders, allocate resources, and prioritize tasks based on project requirements for second shift mechanics and technicians
• Verify completion, efficiency, and accuracy of work orders
• Can identify and diagnose issues with diesel engines and heavy highway trucks
• Can check and repair emissions to ensure they are within proper limits
• Complete all detailed maintenance records of each service completed, in compliance with DOT requirements.
• Communicate with the parts department to ensure appropriate parts are ordered and in stock
• Oversee 4 technician and prioritize deadlines and meet company needs.
• Purchase, maintain and inspect specialized tools necessary to complete routine tasks
• Proactively seek and identify problems and provide solutions
• Create and maintain a quality control process to be completed before a vehicle returns to service
• Communicate repair timelines with various departments
• Can maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with OSHA standards, and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Assist shop manager in various duties

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Knowledge of essential job skills and responsibilities
• Knowledge of tools and mechanical aptitude
• 5 years of mechanical experience required.
• Technical Skills – Computer programs (basic Microsoft), ability to use company systems.
• Organizational skills
• Strong communication skills
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and possess a valid driver’s license.
• 18 years of age required.
• Preferred experience driving manual transmission.
• CDL required
• Pass all drug and alcohol screens as required by Company policy and, if applicable, required by DOT regulations

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to perform physical requirements of the job, such as prolonged physical exertion, and may require prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, and working in awkward positions.
• Must be able to lift and carry weights exceeding 90lbs.
• Exposure to noise, heat, dust, and fumes as found in a repair facility.

This position reports to the Shop Manager

Work Hours: Full-Time 2nd Shift position – Monday – Friday: 3:30pm – 12am

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
