  • Manages and oversees the day-to-day operations of assigned unit.
  • Provides onsite unit support, as directed by the Unit Supervisor.
  • Attends mandatory staff meeting and other meetings as assigned.
  • Willing and able to fill in as per Unit Supervisor request in times of staff shortage or unit crisis.
  • Perform safety checks per policy and document accordingly.
  • Manages all employee functions of assigned staff including recruitment, on the job training, coaching, and mentoring, performance appraisals, and performance management functions.
  • Maintain role model stance with staff in regard to dealing with behavioral and control problems by modeling therapeutic interventions

What you need to be considered...

  • Must be able to verify one of the following qualifications: • Bachelor's degree and 1 year of work experience in a child caring institution, preferred. • Associate degree or 48 completed credit hours and 2 years of work experience in an institution, preferred. • High school diploma/GED and 4 years of work experience in an institution.
  • Minimum of one year experience working with adolescents.
  • Previous supervisory/management experience preferred.
  • Minimum age of 21 per licensure requirements.
  • Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving).
  • Must meet and maintain background screening requirements of program(s) assigned to.
  • No felony convictions or other criminal offenses involving a dependent population.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Essential Job Functions:

Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35lbs); to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.

Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction
