The Dallastown Area School District has an anticipated vacancy for an English Language Arts Teacher at the Middle School to begin immediately.
JOB SUMMARY
Successful candidate will be responsible for developing students’ skills, while facilitating success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills. Specific educational needs of individual students will be addressed, while creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the abilities of students.
Guides the learning process toward the achievement of established District curriculum goals and objectives.
Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, while modifying instructional methods to fit individual students’ needs.
Employs a variety of instructional techniques and teaching strategies to meet different aptitudes and interests of students, including current technology and whole group/small group learning.
Effectively communicate and collaborate with administration, staff members and parents in providing feedback regarding student progress, expectations and goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree required
Valid Pennsylvania teaching certificate required
Grades 4 - 8, (ELA certification preferred)
Related teaching experience preferred
Willingness to be flexible in terms of teaching assignment within the school setting
Completion of all mandated pre-employment documents
