Position Description Summary

Title: Youth Coordinator (Navigator)

Department: DLF Youth Location: Dallas, TX

Reports to: DLF Youth Director

About the Dallas Leadership Foundation: The Dallas Leadership Foundation is a faith-based 501 (c) 3 organization that connects diverse organizations to unlock leadership in challenged communities so that all have an opportunity to succeed.

Job Summary: Under the broad supervision of and working directly with the Director of Youth of Dallas Leadership Foundation, the Youth Coordinator(Navigator) is the principal staff member responsible for implementing training to youth in the areas of employment, education, health, and financial literacy. This position involves cultivating new and existing relationships, planning and leading Power programs, as well as completing reports required to assess program effectiveness. The Youth Coordinator(Navigator) works with schools, neighborhoods, partner ministries, businesses, and the local government to conduct effective youth and workforce development programs. Successful candidates for the position of Youth Coordinator (Navigator) will be skilled in interpersonal relationships and working with a diverse constituency. The Youth Coordinator(Navigator) should be comfortable conducting large and small group meetings as well as one on one meetings with youth. Prior experience in youth public speaking and training and case management is strongly preferred. Due to the nature of this position the Youth Coordinator(Navigator) should be comfortable working with a diverse population both ethnically, and socioeconomically diverse.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with DLF Youth team to execute Power lunch, mentoring, camp and discipleship programs.
  • Provide financial training and case management for Juniors and Seniors to transition into life after high school.
  • Provide employment training and case management for high school and young adult students.
  • Provide social skills training for high school students.
  • Create weekly progress reports for the supervisor.
  • Create weekly to-do.
  • Be comfortable developing and facilitating training and presentations in front of small and medium-size groups.

Qualifications:

Successful candidates for the position of Youth Coordinator (Navigator) are expected to possess the following qualities and attributes:

  • B.A. degree from an accredited university
  • A mature Christian with experience in ministry service, either full-time or in a volunteer capacity.
  • Understands and practices principles of Biblical equality dealing with class, race and gender.
  • Computer literate, able to navigate software programs, databases, and office equipment.
  • Strong verbal, writing, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Highly motivated self-starter.
  • A teachable spirit and a willingness to learn new skills.
  • Must possess an undergraduate degree.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus
  • Able to organize, prioritize, and work well with others.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver license

In addition to outlined performance measures, every employee will be evaluated on their ability to perform in the following areas:
