Inventory Assistant, Police Department (226 Days) -(RTP20240325-006)
Description
Oversees the process and procurement of police equipment and uniforms, which includes boots, pants, shirts, vest, jackets, hats, belts, etc. Ensures that items are properly stored and secured
Prepares and completes various forms, reports, inventory records, reference documents and other documentation; reviews, completes, processes, forwards or retains as appropriate
Maintains control of equipment and uniform inventory. Research new equipment and uniforms; purchases and distributes new equipment and uniforms; and destroy/retires old equipment and uniforms
Coordinates with vendors routinely concerning uniforms and equipment
Secures quotes and process justification forms for all forecasted uniform/equipment purchases
Maintains accurate records and excel spreadsheets for all purchases and disbursements of uniforms/equipment. Creates and maintains e-files for each police and security officer receiving uniforms and equipment
Ensures all purchase orders received are complete and clears for payment. Trouble shoots all invoices prior to payment
Enter receivers and reconciles all open purchase orders to ensure compliance
Reconcile purchase order expenditures and invoice on hold report
Perform other task and duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required High School Diploma or GED
Preferred 2 years of direct Inventory control systems; procedures for warehousing stored property; logistical operations; police equipment and supplies. One to three years of inventory control experience
Must be at least 21 years of age. Valid Texas drivers license and meet district requirements to operate a vehicle
Demonstrated ability to work with Microsoft applications to include Word, Excel and Office Outlook
Demonstrated ability to work with and manage a variety of databases and generate reports
Demonstrated ability to maintain emotional control under stress
Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain physical inventory and equipment
Demonstrated ability to write clear and concise reports related to assignment
Demonstrated ability to deal sensitively and fairly with people from diverse cultural backgrounds
Demonstrated strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position
Undergo a criminal records check and drug screening
Adherence to district and department grooming standards
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
Ability to work evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. No shift is permanent
