Description
  • With oversight from the Marketing Supervisor, develop, implement, and execute all marketing promotions in support of driving increased meal participation and wellness awareness
  • Generate, edit, publish, and share daily content (original text, images, video, and HTML) on social media platforms that builds meaningful connections with the community. Engage in conversations on behalf of the department
  • Research, prepare, and compile data and other documents for projects, presentations, articles, grants and reports. Report on data in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with district’s communication department to manage press releases, media inquiries, and joint social media efforts to increase engagement with district and program awareness. Coordinates with Graphics Department and other marketing services as necessary
  • Works with menu planning team to ensure goals for education and nutrition awareness are reached through menu application and digital monitors
  • Creates and edits brochures, publications, ads and other print and electronic promotional media
  • Collaborate with other department team members and consultants, when necessary, to coordinate and execute activities related to department and district wide annual events
  • Facilitate pilot programs and new opportunities for promotions
  • Collaborate with menu planning team on performing taste testing of new and existing products to assess and report on acceptability utilizing surveys and google analytics
  • Develop co-marketing opportunities with vendors, influencers, community organizations, partners and others
  • Compose department’s newsletter, articles, presentations, talking points and other digital and printed material. Create media releases’, respond to website questions, media, concerns in a timely manner
  • Collaborate in increasing Dallas ISD presence in conferences and professional events. Attend as required
  • Provide regular feedback to supervisor regarding the status of project progress, social media strategies, and promotions. Ensure all written documentation has supervisor’s approval before preceding

Selected individuals for Dallas Independent School District positions will be placed according to compensation guidelines. Qualifications
  • Required Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in marketing, communications, public health, nutrition, dietetics, hospitality, science or directly related field
  • School Nutrition Specialist Certification preferred
  • Required 3-5 year of direct digital marketing design, social media or relevant field experience
  • Superb communication (both orally and in writing) and public speaking skills to connect with diverse cultures and background in English and Spanish (preferred) through focus groups, interviews, presentations and promotions. Ability to assimilate complex ideas and detailed information into well-written, spoken and visual communication
  • Experience in public speaking skills for interviews and presentations. Excellent writing and editing skills in English; bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus
  • Experience managing marketing promotions using various techniques a plus
  • Advance experience using MS Office Suite, Adobe Suite, G-Suite, Video Editing software a plus
  • Demonstrate knowledge of nutrients, menu planning and wellness. Must be familiar with Dietary Guidelines for Americans and Institute of Medicine (IOM) guidelines. He/she must understand the importance of technology and automation in data capture and analysis. He/she must also be able to analyze productivity performance results and take appropriate action
  • Create engaging content for the district’s social media presence, including keeping social media channels updated and brand-focused, and seeking out new ways to connecting with customers and stakeholders
  • Ability to deliver creative web content (text, image and video). Expertise in use of social media including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram amongst others platforms. Ability to becoming well-versed on the story brand framework and art of storytelling
  • Excellent organizational, management and interpersonal skills. Good problem solving and critical thinking skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage many concurrent projects
  • Ability to work outside the normal office schedule (for events, health fair, PTO meetings, etc.)
  • Ability to create monthly, quarterly and annual reports
