Dalinghaus Construction is Hiring a Foundation Repair Apprentice (Construction experience required) Near Elsinore, CA

SEEKING MOTIVATED, HARDWORKING, RELIABLE INDIVIDUALS WITH CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE THAT WOULD LIKE TO LEARN OUR TRADE AND GROW AT OUR COMPANY.

IF YOU HAVE FOUNDATION REPAIR EXPERIENCE (INSTALLING HELICAL AND PUSH PIERS), YOU MAY BE CONSIDERED FOR A HIGHER LEVEL POSITION.

CLEAN DRIVNG RECORD AND BEING APPROVED ON COMPANY AUTO INSURANCE ARE REQUIRED FOR CO-FOREMAN AND FOREMAN POSITIONS.

MUST PASS APPRENTICE ORAL AND FIELD TEST TO PROMOTE TO CREW SUPPORT. ANTICIPATED TIMELINE IS 60-90 DAYS.

FOUNDATION REPAIR CREW MEMBER

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for day working safely and practicing basic safety procedure. Takes direction from foreman on project requirements and customer’s expectations. Performs installation practices for each scope of work for the particular project. Maintains responsibility for installation of given projects according to quality standards and job specifications. Is a part of the installation crew, ensures equipment and products are safe and functional, and that job schedules are maintained. Supports the management and mission of the company.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Understands the Technical side of the material

a.The “why” of when different material is used. Not just “I put steel in the ground”.

2. Able to properly install crawlspace jacks

3. Can read blueprints. Able to confirm material being used, depths required, pressures needed and inspections required.

4. Knows how to properly lift a structure utilizing helicals and push piers. Field Test for confirmation is required.

5. Knows the terminology for all equipment and material we use.

6. Able to operate company’s equipment safely. Able to complete field test with either Operations manager or Field Supervisor and daily maintenance checks.

INDIVIDUAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

UNDERPINNING KNOWLEDGE TO INCLUDE:

a. Layout pier locations

b. Layout concrete RnR (if applicable)

c. Locate all utilities in area of work

d. Protect surrounding work area

e. Excavate pier locations

f. Install pier bracket system

g. Drive pipe to adequate depth and drive pressure

h. Prepare pier system for load transfer and/or lift

i. Measure and verify floor elevations from previously provided source

j. Lift or stabilize structure

k. Lock off pier at desired level

l. Schedule or perform polyurethane void fill for structure

m. Repair or schedule the repair of any pipes that have been compromised

n. Backfill and compact excavated pier locations

o. Pour back concrete, if applicable

p. Clean up job site

NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, and TALENTS:

1. Knowledge of construction, concrete or related principles and practices.

2. Knowledge in foundation systems and procedures including piers, anchors, carbon fiber wrap, stem wall repair and waterproofing.

2. Skill in operating personal computer and programs such as Buildertrend and other business software.

3. Skill in logic and math.

4. Ability to interpret complex information or instructions into understandable job specifications, measurements, instructions and standards.

5. Ability to communicate with subordinates about job generalities and specifics—to give instruction.

6. Ability to motivate, guide and direct others to produce expected production outcomes.

8. High School diploma or equivalent desired

9. Field Test passed with a 90% or higher

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly or to move objects. Ability to stand, bend and kneel for long periods.
