Daley and Associates is Hiring an Accounting Associate Near New York, NY

Accounting Associate – Investment Management
We are currently seeking candidates for an Accounting Associate opportunity with a highly successful investment management firm located in New York, NY. The Accounting Associate will drive key finance, accounting, and control functions throughout the firm, and will work closely with the firm’s Controller, CFO, and COO.
Compensation: $75,000-$100,000 on a base salary (depending on experience) plus bonus and strong benefits.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with fund administrators on daily activity, and produce final NAVs for funds and SPVs
  • Assist with management company financials, month-end close, and fund sign off
  • Prepare and produce return estimates
  • Assist in continued buildout of internal accounting system
  • Perform valuation and pricing of the firm’s investment portfolio across all vehicles
  • Support interim and year-end audits and coordinate effectively with fund auditors
  • Assist with tax work as needed, which includes year-end tax returns and K-1s, and coordinate with fund tax advisors
  • Deliver ad hoc internal management reports
  • Produce balance sheet and P&L analytics
  • Contribute to ongoing preparation of ad hoc investor and marketing related requests and DDQs
  • Collaborate with operations to understand the trade cycle for accuracy in reporting and month-end closes
  • Execute cash wires and related control processes
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, and/or Economics (Required)
  • 2 years of experience in public or private accounting (audit, tax, fund administration, etc.)
  • Successful completion of CPA exam (preferred)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and self-motivated
  • Strong time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel)
