Job Description
Inver Hills Community College seeks a one year (1) Fixed Term, Full-Time Communication Instructor to teach courses in Communication Studies, including Interpersonal Communication, Public Speaking, Small Group Communication, and Intercultural Communication.
Faculty at Inver Hills Community College display a strong student focus with special attention to a range of learners, their beliefs, and positionalities. Successful candidates are comfortable with classroom instruction, online synchronous instruction, and online asynchronous instruction.

Required Qualifications
Education Requirement
  • Master’s degree with a major in speech, speech communication, or communication, or communication studies or
  • Master’s degree in any discipline/field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in speech, speech communication, or communication, or communication studies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in, and an ongoing commitment to, working effectively with and providing education related to marginalized communities, including Black, Indigenous, People of Color, underrepresented religious groups, immigrant populations; people with disabilities and disabled communities; women; people with LGBTQIA identities and expressions; and people from economically oppressed backgrounds.
  • Experience teaching first-generation, PSEO, and non-traditional students
  • Experience teaching in a range of modalities including face-to-face and asynchronous online.

Benefits Info
Salary: Full time faculty salaries for the 2024 – 2025 academic year range from $43,067 – $94,542 annually. Salary schedule placement is determined on the basis of education and experience and in accordance with the 2023 – 2025 Master Agreement between the Minnesota State Board of Trustees and the Minnesota State College Faculty.
Depending on credit load, the State of Minnesota offers:
