The Daily Wire is looking for a Chief Financial Officer to lead the planning, implementation, managing and running of all financial activities of the company. This position will be responsible for tracking cash flow and financial planning and analysis to identify the company's financial strengths and weaknesses and propose strategic direction accordingly. As an integral part of the team, we are looking for someone with experience, dedication, and the ability to navigate a fast-paced and ever-changing environment!
Responsibilities
Financial Strategy and Planning
Execute the company's financial strategy. Lead all financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for the company. Develop plans for growth to increase company profit while also reducing expenditure. Advise on long-term business and financial planning. Review planning process and suggest improvements to current methods.
Financial Operations and Control
Ensure cash flow is compatible with company operations by overseeing the day-to-day accounting, recording, reporting, and internal control activities of the organization. Lead the development and use of best-practice policies, practices, and tools that ensure a well-controlled yet flexible organization with strong fiscal management, project management, cross-team communications, and workflow. Oversee assigned departments including but not limited to Accounting, FP&A, and Ad Development.
Communication and Relationship Management
Share information with the Executive team to ensure they are kept up-to-date on activities, condition of the organization, and important factors influencing it. Establish and develop relations with the Executive team and external partners.
Negotiation and Compliance
Manage financial negotiations on behalf of the organization. Comply with federal, state, and local financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing compliance, and taking action. Assure all required legal and regulatory documents are properly filed.
Risk Management
Identify and assess financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them. Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets. Stay informed about industry trends and changes in financial regulations that may impact the company.
Investor Relations
Interface with investors, analysts, and other stakeholders. Communicate financial performance, strategies, and company goals to the investment community.
Tax Planning and Compliance
Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the finance department.
Education
Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance required.
Demonstrated Skills/Abilities/Competencies
•8-10 years previous professional experience in financial management required
•Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance required
•Previous relevant experience within an established media or subscription-based organization required
•Strong financial and accounting background, including a expert-level understanding of profit and loss, balance sheets, cash flow management, and corporate structure
•Previous professional Executive experience preferred
•Proven negotiation skills
•Outstanding project management skills
•Strong leadership skills
•Effective written and verbal communication skills
•Outstanding analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
•Ability to effectively delegate and maintain and "big picture" strategic view
•Self-motivated with goal-oriented approach to managing responsibilities
•Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy work environment
Reports to: Co-CEO
Start date: Immediate
Employment type: Full-time; Exempt
Compensation: Dependent upon experience
