Associate Product Manager - Controls

The Opportunity

The Associate Product Manager - Controls is responsible for meeting the order, product development, training and support, revenue, and margin goals for the controls business. Reporting to the Senior Product Manager, the Controls Product Manager will represent the Controls Team in interfacing with the DBU and GBU sales teams, engineering teams, distributors and dealers, and other internal teams. The Associate Product Manager is responsible for the overall success for products, projects and digital solutions as assigned by the Sr. Product Manager and delivers measurable business results through product lifecycle solutions that meet both market needs and organizational goals. This position is responsible for executing the offering roadmap, requirements development, product development and commercialization strategies for the assigned portfolio that may include Daikin, Amana, or Goodman brands.

Responsibilities

May include:

• Responsible for executing strategic product planning, roadmap definition, commercialization development, product promotion, training and support throughout the product life cycle.
• Representation as product line SME on multi-functional program teams to ensure compliance with quality systems and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure customer focus in product line development plans and value propositions by establishing relationships with customers as required and ensuring the “voice of the customer” is reflected in work efforts.
• Define and lead appropriate market segmentation and positioning strategies for the assigned product lines.
• Monitor, and be accountable for, key success metrics, including but not limit to, such as revenue, margins, customer satisfaction, training, literature development and proper market adoption.
• Conduct cost and margin analysis and determines product pricing and profitability. Recommend list pricing and collaborate with cross function team to set pricing.
• Engage and partner with customers and other stakeholders in developing new innovations and product features. 
• Participate in additional projects to support ongoing business needs. 

Qualifications

Knowledge & Skills: 

• Demonstrated ability to translate customer needs into product requirements 
• Residential HVAC Product Management/Marketing expertise, including: market trends/analysis, NPI process, product roadmap and requirements development, product life-cycle management, support, training 
• Strong analytical, problem solving and process skills 
• Customer centric. Ability to put customer’s needs and customer’s experience at the fore forefront of all activities 
• Excellent verbal and written communications and presentation skills 
• Understands quality problem solving techniques (root cause analysis) 
• Innovation – demonstrated ability to develop new ideas through collaboration and execute on creative ideas
• Demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate internally and with customers 
• Effective organizational and time management skills including project management skills 
• Team oriented – ability to motivate and work well within a matrix, diverse, global and cross-functional environment 
• Ability to apply good judgement, strong work ethics and integrity on the job 
• Willingness to travel 10-30% 

Experience: 

• 2 years experiences in residential HVAC product management, marketing, commercial marketing or related field
• Experience with P&L ownership is a plus
• Experience in preparing material and communication with company and customers executive levels

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, engineering or related field
