Job Summary

A Controls Support Specialist, provides technical expertise and develops solutions to automation technical problems. Has wide understanding of controls-related products, solutions, and engineering concepts. Supports development specifications, reads and reviews device layout drawings and control schematics, and uses PLC ladder logic to provide solutions to equipment issues.

Responsibilities

• Performs Allen Bradley (AB) PLC control-level issue diagnosis using ladder logic and PanelView HMI
• Follows change management process and develop ad-hoc PLC ladder code change using Rockwell RSLogix family IDE’s (RSLogix5000 preferred)
• Utilizing proper equipment, troubleshoots electrical malfunctions from 24VDC to 480VAC
• Performs incident follow-up, root cause analysis, and documentation
• Documents control system and equipment configuration changes
• Uses SCADA and other tools to monitor system operations.
• Mentors technicians by motivating, guiding, and directing their work; provides appropriate feedback to improve performance
• Completes all safety training as assigned
• Complies with all safety programs, policies, and procedures
• On call as needed
• Performs other related resident maintenance tasks not specifically listed above

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; 2-year professional electrical training degree or Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field preferred
• Minimum of 1 years of experience in Allen Bradley (AB) PLC control-level issue diagnosis using ladder logic and PanelView HMI
• Minimum of 1 year of experience with electrical troubleshooting and schematic reading
