Dahlgren Enterprises, Inc is Hiring a Warehouse Associate Near Saint Paul, MN

Job Purpose:To turn emotions into memories”, by picking orders and receiving inventory so that product availability for production and sales meets or exceeds their business requirements.

Job Duties and Responsibilities – The Warehouse Associate will be successful by fulfilling the following job responsibilities and values:

  1. Prioritizing and Picking Orders for Production Based on Need.
    • Regularly monitors pulling schedule for orders that are ready to pick.
    • Accurately locates, counts, and handles inventory.
    • Utilizes order picker and technology such as barcode scanners to ensure accurate preparation of orders for production.
    • Inspects pieces and boxes for manufacturer defects and damage ensuring Crystal D quality standards are met and upheld.
    • Ensures orders are prioritized based on shipping schedule and production needs by continually communicating with Warehouse Manager and Storekeeper.
  1. Receive, Inspect, and Put Away Inbound Shipments
    • Verify packing slips and product against purchase orders to ensure accuracy.
    • Prioritize “hot” items needed to fulfill orders.
    • Enter all products into inventory control software ensuring accuracy of inventory quantities.
    • Inspect for any external damage on inbound shipments, mark the BOL and communicate with the Warehouse Manager and Purchasing.
    • Utilize forklift, pallet jack and order picker to store products so that they are accessible and follow storage guidelines.
    • As directed, continuously optimize product storage to ensure efficient storage.
  1. Maintains Organization and Cleanliness of the Warehouse.
    • Follows preventative maintenance schedule for Forklift, Order Picker, and JLG(s) and keep them clean and in good operating condition.
    • Processes packaging and other refuse keeping the warehouse free of any debris.
    • Maintains a clean and orderly workstation with all tools put away at end of shift.
    • Maintains floors in warehouse by routinely sweeping and operating a floor scrubber.
    • Maintains a process of continuous improvement in all warehouse practices and procedures.

3. Performs Other Work Duties as Assigned 

  • Proactively anticipates the workload of other warehouse team members and assists them to ensure all warehouse responsibilities are met, on a daily basis.
  • Maintains a process of continuous improvement in all warehouse practices and procedures.
  • Follows all Crystal D safety guidelines and practices.
  • Performs other work as assigned.

Qualification and Skill Requirements:

Prior Experience:

1 year of working in a warehouse or production environment.

Experience with inventory management software preferred. 

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite preferred.

Knowledge Requirements

To be effective, this position requires specific knowledge of warehouse operation and order fulfillment.

High school education or equivalent.

Licenses and Certifications

Clean driving record with DOT Certification or the ability to obtain.

Previous forklift experience preferred.

Work Demands

This position will require moderate work hours beyond the normal workday based on the demands of the business cycle, customer volume of business, and specific sales efforts underway. It has a low demand for tight deadlines except for certain seasonal pressures. This position entails work of a highly seasonal or cyclical nature. This position will experience moderate interruption in work flow. It has a low rate of overnight and day travel.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position requires:

  • Continuous (up to 8 hours per day) bending, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, reaching, lifting and grasping of product weighing 50 or more pounds.
  • Frequent (2 to 5 hours per day) standing and walking.
  • Regular (up to 2 hours per day) sitting, talking, and repetitive motion, hand/wrist movement (keyboarding)
  • Sensory requirements: Good eyesight, normal hearing, ability to speak clearly and to be understood in the English language.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Mostly Indoors in a climate controlled environment and some outdoors. Mostly in a warehouse/production environment.

Work Schedule

This position usually works for eight (8) hours during the period of 7:00 am to 3:45 pm. However, hours of work are flexible and will fluctuate based on the needs of the business and the customers. The job may require a maximum of 5-15 hours of work beyond the normal work schedule depending on work demands. The work hours can vary depending on customer requirements.
