Qualifications: High school diploma required; associate’s degree preferred. Experience with Windows and Microsoft office, typing proficiency of 60wpm, and medical terminology background preferred.

Must have excellent telephone, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Duties: Laboratory Assistants in Histology are responsible for the slide distribution section of Histology. Included in the responsibilities for this position are: complete maintenance and management of staining and coverslipping of all slides that are completed in the Histology department, filing and maintaining all blocks that are created in the department; and distribution of slides to pathologists. Critical thinking, organizational and multitasking skills will be required to determine distribution of slides to pathologists available to take cases.

Hours: Monday-Friday 5:30am-2pm
