DAC Engineered Products is Hiring an Assistant Controller Near Oswego, IL

DAC Engineering is looking for an Assistant Controller to support our finance department in ensuring the accuracy of our financial records and compliance with regulatory standards. The Assistant Controller will play a vital role in financial reporting, analysis, and internal control maintenance. This position will report directly to the Controller.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts, collaborating with department heads to analyze variances and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Month-End and Year-End Close: Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Internal Controls: Maintain and enhance internal controls to safeguard company assets, ensure compliance with accounting policies, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Variance Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue growth.
  • Tax Compliance: Collaborate with tax professionals to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Audit Support: Assist in the coordination of external audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing auditor inquiries.
  • Cash Management: Monitor cash flow and manage cash reserves to meet operational needs and maximize investment returns.
  • Financial Systems: Collaborate with IT to improve financial systems, streamline processes, and implement best practices.
  • Labor and Overhead Rates: Monitor and analyze labor and overhead rates to ensure accurate allocation of costs and support cost-effective manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Proven experience in a similar financial role, preferably in manufacturing or aerospace.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems (e.g., ERP systems, Excel).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
