D1 Youth Sports-Specific Camp Counselor Job Description As a D! Youth Sports-Specific Camp Counselor, you will play a vital role in creating a positive and enriching fun experience for young campers. Your primary responsibility is to supervise and engage with children in a safe and supportive environment. Here are the key duties and qualifications for this role: Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervision and Safety:
Ensure the safety and well-being of campers at all times.
Oversee camp activities, ensuring that children do not get lost or injured.
Implement emergency protocols to protect campers.
Sports Instruction:
Organize and lead sports-related activities such as soccer, softball, basketball, and other outdoor games.
Teach fundamental sports skills, rules, and techniques.
Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair play.
Other Activities:
Facilitate non-sports activities, including strength training, team-building exercises, and .
Act as a mentor, providing guidance to campers in building self-esteem, independence, and social skills.
Communication:
Maintain open communication with D1 Head Coach, Assistant Coach, and parents, providing updates and answering questions about the camp.
Collaborate with fellow counselors and camp staff to create a positive camp experience.
Skills and Qualifications:
Safety-Conscious: Prioritize camper safety and respond effectively in emergencies.
Enthusiastic: Bring energy and enthusiasm to engage campers in sports and other activities.
Good Communication: Interact positively with children, parents, and fellow staff members.

Education and Experience Requirements:
