D l evans bank is Hiring a Commercial Loan Officer Near Nampa, ID

Job DescriptionThe Commercial Loan Officer is responsible for receiving, reviewing, evaluating, and underwriting commercial loan requests. He or she meets with applicants to explain credit policies and to obtain loan information and documentation, monitors and reviews construction and development loans, and helps with collection activities. The Commercial Loan Officer serves borrowers and prospective borrowers promptly and professionally, provides general bank information, cross-sells services, and helps other Commercial Lending personnel as necessary. He or she is responsible for business development and marketing of existing and prospective accounts.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred
  • Three to five years of commercial lending experience required
  • Understanding of financial analysis and determination of credit worthiness required
  • Knowledge of Bank lending and collections programs, policies, and procedures required
  • Active license number with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry or the ability to obtain such
  • Familiarity with property management and maintenance procedures preferred
  • Strong interviewing skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven track record of community/civic/trade organization involvement and business development
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Able to use financial calculator and related computer applications and business machines
Responsibilities
  • Ensures that customers' requests and questions are promptly resolved
  • Interviews, takes applications, and processes preliminary documentation on loan requests, discussing loan alternatives, credit criteria, interest rates, and loan documentation in such a manner as to elicit positive responses from customers
  • Completes lending operations in accordance with established Bank policies and legal requirements
  • Informs customers of Bank loan policies and services
  • Analyzes and evaluates loan requests and approves loan within specified limits or prepares written submission for consideration by the Senior Lender, Regional Credit Officer, or Senior Loan Committee if over individual limit
  • Identifies problems or potential problems with credit information and coordinates with the necessary party to resolve the problems
  • Helps review construction loan advances on commercial properties
  • Conducts property inspections as assigned
  • Reviews loan reports to identified maturing or matured loans and is proactive in completing renewal paperwork or processing a decline
  • Helps with the collection of delinquent accounts
  • Establishes and maintains effective and professional business relations with customers and trade professionals
  • Educates customers regarding bank products and services requested and how they can better serve their individual financial needs
  • Meets with applicants whose loans are denied and explains reasons and alternatives
  • May indirectly or directly supervise loan personnel and/or lending assistants, ensuring that high quality work and efficiency in operations are maintained
  • May determine work methods and flow through assigning, directing, coordinating, and reviewing tasks
  • Attends assigned training sessions and stays current on new procedures and policies
  • Markets commercial loans and cross-sells other bank products and services
  • Stays informed regarding changes in lending standards and related legal requirements
  • Promotes D.L. Evans Bank at all times and serves as a representative in the community
  • Completes required reports and records accurately and promptly
  • Maintains the professional reputation of D.L. Evans Bank
  • Coordinates functions with related departments and Branches and provides support as needed
  • Helps other area personnel as required
  • Keeps management informed of area activities and any significant problems or concerns
  • Attends and participates in meetings and committees as required
  • Completes special projects as assigned
