D-H Medical Center is Hiring a Supervisor - Healthcare Operations Support Near Lebanon, NH

Overview
Provides supervision and leadership for the System Staffing Office’s (SSO) Healthcare Operations Support program, a non-clinical
float pool to provide operational and administrative support to multiple departments in the organization.
Coordinates the training and scheduling of employees to areas of highest need in real time, while predicting future scheduling
needs. Collaborates with Workforce Development (WFD) programs to support healthcare career exploration and growth through
float pool participation. Fosters an environment of open communication with all partners and staff with personal communication
skills and tactical collection and deployment of data.

Responsibilities
Team Supervision
  • Directly supervises day to day activities of all assigned staff to support safety and quality. Ensures that work remains within the
    scope of support staff privileges.
  • Works with Talent Acquisition and Workforce Development (WFD) to identify and select new hires, and complete new employee
    onboarding and orientation activities/requirements.
  • Manages payroll processing and keeps records in accordance with policy.
  • Creates an engaged workforce by conducting individual goal setting and providing continued training opportunities. Supports staff engagement with 2-way communications and information flow.
  • Monitors staff behaviors and processes as they relate to safe work practices and provides the coaching required to maintain a
    culture of safety.
  • Provides all assigned personnel with regular performance feedback and ensures that all annual performance evaluations are
    written and provide clear feedback for performance improvement. Performs all improvement coaching, disciplinary action, goal
    setting and annual reviews in support of policy.
Operations
  • Works closely with DH leaders, departments that receive staffing support, and the System Staffing Office (SSO) scheduling team to
    streamline processes and deploy staff for maximum yield.
  • Partners with the department manager to develop key operating objectives and works to deploy action plans throughout the
    department to achieve these objectives.
  • Provides scheduling system support and administration.
  • Educates, orients and supervises SSO scheduling team for deployment of Healthcare Operations Support staff, and provides backup
    coverage for all SSO clinical scheduling staff as needed.
Process Improvement, Quality and Safety
  • Partners with SSO, WFD and receiving department leaders to ensure cooperation, consistency, and teamwork and support longterm
    pipeline development, skill preparation and career exploration into critical healthcare career paths.
  • Tracks and reviews prioritization of individual staff deployments in accordance with prioritization, and makes suggestions to ensure
    SSO staff are deployed to the place of highest need whenever possible.
  • Collaborates with partner representatives to respond to changing educational and departmental requirements.
  • Contributes initiatives and scheduling notes in staff meetings.
  • Participates in the implementation of new initiatives through real-time adjustments to relevant scheduling, strategy or personnel
    lessons learned/insights/changes.
  • Participates in the periodic review of existing schedule requirements and other strategies to optimize the recruitment, retention
    and optimal deployment of SSO staff.
  • Reports progress and trend information to the department manager on a regular basis.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree with 3 years of supervisory level experience or the equivalent in education and experience required.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving experience.
  • Demonstrated capacity for self-directed performance.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, decision-making, and leadership skills, with the ability to work independently and to
    collaborate effectively with a team.
  • Ability to relate effectively with all levels of clinicians, administrative and operational staff, patients and the general public.
  • High level of computer proficiency desired, including being skilled in the use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with staff scheduling and a variety of scheduling software.
  • Previous healthcare industry experience preferred.
