Purpose of Job:

The Czinger 21C is a groundbreaking 3D printed hybrid hypercar with a combined powertrain output of over 1250BHP. Working as part of the US based trackside team, we are seeking a Vehicle Calibration Engineer to carryout calibration of Vehicle Control Unit functionalities to deliver performance, drivability, legal and safety related attributes. 

Essential Job Functions and Performance Standards:

1)Support the development of vehicle control functionalities by providing input and feedback to the software development team.

2)Plan and carry out vehicle test activities at various facilities internationally, including chassis dynamometer, proving ground, racetrack and road. Must have flexible approach to work location. 

3)Support emissions and OBD compliance through the development and calibration of hybrid controls strategies.

4)Support build of prototype vehicles through the commissioning and debug of hybrid and vehicle systems. Take ownership of issue resolution. 

5)Coordinate with other controls suppliers and partners.

6)Provide input into the definition of vehicle architecture of future Czinger vehicles

Work Environment:

Extensive travel (~70%), Office, workshop, test lab, engine/chassis dynamometer, in vehicle testing at proving ground / racetrack / on road. Climatic testing -10°C to 40°C. International travel ~20%.

Requirements:

Education:BSc in Automotive, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

Licenses/Certificates:Drivers license.

Advanced level or high-performance vehicle driver training desirable 

Experience:8 Years Vehicle Development

4 Years Hybrid Vehicle experience/

Skills:•Thorough understanding of hybrid powertrain control strategies.

•Excellent knowledge of the fundaments of the internal combustion engines & Hybrid Electric Vehicle operation.

•Proven understanding of calibration methodology and can develop new calibration processes.

•Ability to debug hardware and software issues on vehicle.

•To be able to plan and execute necessary vehicle tests.

•Experience of high-performance vehicle testing and use of test facilities including chassis dyno, proving ground and racetrack.

•Experienced with Matlab/Simulink.

•Can define and set up data acquisition equipment. Proficient with data acquisition tools such as Vector Canape as well as data analysis techniques

•Understanding of vehicle emissions and OBD regulations desirable.

•Experience of safety monitoring beneficial. 

•Able to work autonomously and as part as team. Can collaborate cross-functionally and with external partners.

•Has a solution orientated approach and takes ownership of given responsibilities.

Physical Demands:•Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.

Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a copy machine and printer
