Job Summary: Nantucket Public Schools seeks [1] dynamic Math Teacher at Cyrus Peirce Middle School (grades 6-8). We have adopted Illustrative Math, but reviewing Reveal for the future. The successful candidate will have experience facilitating learning of disciplinary core ideas through engagement in math. The teacher will also promote learning and growth of each student by facilitating high-quality learning experiences, utilizing meaningful student assessments to inform instruction, differentiating instruction, and maintaining a safe and effective learning environment.Minimum Requirements:Knowledge of Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks (Math)Bachelor’s DegreeMassachusetts certification or the ability to become Massachuetts certified in Math (5-8)Ideal Candidate:Experience in middle school math teaching Passion for teaching mathAbility to assess learning using a variety of methodsStrong foundation in student-centered and culturally responsive pedagogyKnowledge of differentiated instruction and response to interventionExcellent classroom management skillsSEI endorsementAbility to collaborate with teachers and administrators
